EDWARD ALEXANDER AAB June 11, 1929 - April 19, 2016 Peacefully, with family by his side, Edward Aab passed away at Middlechurch Personal Care Home on April 19, 2016, at the age of 86. Ed will be forever missed by his sons Jim (Patti) and Don (Cheryl), grandchildren Kevin (Cathy), Curtis, Lisa and Kelly, as well as great-grandchildren Braxton, Lachlyn, Landon and Easlyn. Ed was predeceased by his wife Shirley in January 2011, as well as brothers Herbert and Clarence, and sisters Betty and Vi, and is survived by sister Martha. Ed met the love of his life, Shirley, where they worked at Ideal Brass and were married in 1953. Ed worked most of his life at and retired from Canada Packers and would meet his friends from work regularly on Thursdays until Shirley's diagnosis of Alzheimers. Ed was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, always putting his family above all else. He worked hard his whole life and he and Shirley provided a warm, loving, supportive home to grow up in despite his very early diagnosis of colon cancer in his late 20's - early 30's and the health issues that came along with that, having his family to support and his sons to raise alongside his wonderful wife, Shirley. Ed and Shirley loved to spend time at their cottage in Ponemah and their favourite times were spent with their children and grandchildren. Ed frequently called his grandkids just to give a hello and have a chat! Eddie loved to pull out his guitar to sing country tunes with Shirley singing along. Seeming to have a crusty exterior, he really was a softie with a great big heart, generous in nature with a good sense of humour. We will miss him deeply and always. Have a rest now dad after a job well done. He taught his sons the best gift of all... how to be a wonderful father. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch PCH for all their caring and support always. You were there when we could not always be, and for that we are eternally grateful. A private service and interment will be taking place. Chapel Lawn in care of arrangements. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
