Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER MCGREGOR We are sad to announce the passing of Peter McGregor on April 15, 2016 at West Park Manor, Winnipeg, peacefully in his sleep. Peter was born in Winnipeg on August 9, 1920, the eldest child of Peter and Annie McGregor. He grew up in Fort Rouge and attended school at LaVerendrye, then Earl Grey and Kelvin. He worked as a bicycle courier before enlisting in the Air Force in 1940. While training in Saskatoon he met Oral Fraser, and they married in Saskatoon on October 27, 1945 at the war's end. Peter served as a flying officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Peter and Oral spent most of their lives in Winnipeg. Peter worked as a sales manager at Kipp Kelly Limited for many years until his retirement. He loved curling and spent long hours in his large backyard garden. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man and a wonderful father and grandfather. Peter is survived by his daughters Sharron Bettess (Brian), Karen McGregor, and Heather Balcaen (Blair); as well as four grandchildren Paul Bettess (Laura), Sara Bettess, Christine Balcaen and Michael Balcaen. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Jessica Kydd (Jean Pierre Berard), Grace Bettess and Jakob Bettess; and one great-great-grandchild Andre Berard; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Oral in October 2015, and his brother Jack McGregor in March, 2016. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oakview Place and West Park Manor for their wonderful care of Peter in his last years. Dear Sharron, Karen and Heather; Will be thinking of you tomorrow as you and your families celebrate Uncle Peter's life. I have fond memories of my last visit with your Dad and om at their Apartment on Wilkes road several years ago .He made Ernie and I feel so welcome. Praying for you at this time.
