Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCISCO IROM (KIKOY) CANTALEJO April 2, 1943 - April 22, 2016 The Cantalejo family wishes to announce that on the evening of April 22, 2016, Francisco Irom Cantalejo, known to many as Kikoy , passed away at the age of 73, surrounded by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Celia; his children Joseph, Barry (Alerose), and Heidi; his granddaughter Kaley; his sister Victoria (in the Philippines); and countless members of his extended family here in Canada and in the Philippines. He was predeceased by his parents, Pacifico and Toribia; his brother Amado; and his nephews Alfredo, Adrian, and Alexis. Born in Bigaa, Cabuyao, Laguna, in the Philippines, Francisco married his sweetheart Celia in 1976, and soon after immigrated to Canada, where they began to build a family together. During his first few years in Canada, he worked a variety of jobs before getting hired at MacDon Industries, where he worked for 30 years before eventually retiring in 2012. The family would like to express its deepest thanks and gratitude to all the medical and support staff of the 5th floor ICCS Unit of the I.H. Asper Clinical Research Institute at St. Boniface Hospital who helped take care of Francisco during his stay there. Thanks to all of our extended family and friends for their prayers, condolences, and support through this difficult time. Lamay (Viewing) will be held Thursday and Friday, April 28 and 29, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., April 30, 2016 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 836 Arlington Street. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. We knew Francisco for many years and it was always a joy to talk with him and share stories about family and friends. He was a passionate man with a big heart. Kikoy will be missed !
