AMY KATHERINE HALLETT On April 18, 2016, our family lost a vibrant, caring, loving, and energetic woman. Amy Katherine Hallett, was born February 24, 1939 to Joseph and Katherine Burek, in Melrose MB. Amy spent her school years in Garson Quarry, MB, moved to Winnipeg and than to Edmonton, AB, where she met and married Lorn Hallett, October 1957. Mother of two daughters, one son, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, her grandchildren became the light of her life. An ardent businesswoman, a skilled seamstress, interested in local affairs and in politics, she has been known to write a letter or two to her representatives. Her love of genealogy led to organizing a number of huge Hallett family reunions. She was the fabulous Auntie Amy to her nieces, nephews, always ready to listen and to share a story or a laugh. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Burek, brother Frank (1999), and niece Kathy Wasney (1999). She is survived by her husband Lorne, two daughters Stephanie and Mary-Ann, son Doug, granddaughters Melissa and Megan, grandsons Tyler, Alan and Grant, and sisters Sophie Smith and Stephie Wasney. Memorial gathering will be held Friday, April 29, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Westlock Inn, 100 St., Westlock, AB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Another means to honour her life is to register as an organ donor, a cause so very dear to her life. Amy...rest in peace. You are already missed. Your loving family.
