Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MAKSYMYK (nee CHERNIAK) Peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016, beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Maksymyk passed away. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Walter Maksymyk in 1998. Jean's memory will be cherished by her daughter Val (Heinz); son Don (Martha); grandchildren Damian, Wade, Drew (Dana) Ambach; Kaley, Kristy Maksymyk; and many friends. Jean was born in Komarno, MB on September 28, 1923. As a young girl she worked on the family farm. As a young lady, she was adventurous and moved to Toronto for a few years. Upon her return to Manitoba, she married Walter on May 31, 1947. Walter and Jean enjoyed 51 years together. She enjoyed sewing, entertaining, pinching perogies at the church, and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed her many adventures with Rose, mushroom and berry picking. Jean was a proud member of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Hechtenthal for his kindness and excellent care. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Reception will follow. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
