Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH KIEL August 1, 1936 - April 29, 2016 It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Kenneth Kiel of Teulon, MB on April 29, 2016. Ken is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene, sons Kevin (Beverley), Brad (Debbie), and grandsons Tyler, Carter, Riley and Cameron. Ken is also survived by brothers Lawrence (Rose) and Marvin (Gladys), in-laws Diane (Ed), Brenda, and Gerry (Barb), nieces Deb (Ray), and Amanda (Eric), nephews Doug (Laverne), Dennis (Daphne), Cory (Celine), and great-nephews MacKenzie and Elliott. Ken was predeceased by Emil and Elsie Kiel, Roy and Thelma Langner, Greg, Cheryl and Cliff Langner. Kenneth was born at home in the R.M of Kreuzburg (Fraserwood) on August 1, 1936. In his early years his family lived in Fraserwood, Gunton, Bell River, Ontario, and in 1947 they moved back to Manitoba and settled in Teulon. Ken worked in construction for many years, work brought Ken to Langner Construction. It was through the Langner family that he was introduced to Marlene. In 1963, Ken and Marlene were married and lived in Winnipeg until 1966 when they bought the farm at Pleasant Home where the family still resides. After a few years of farming and working out in the winters, Ken began farming full time. When he wasn't working hard he enjoyed many games of shuffleboard, horseshoes, curling and hours of snowmobiling. The neighbourhood parties were the highlight of his week. Ken's love for farming is shared by his family. Many hours have been spent working together, sharing meals in the field, riding in the combine and learning from Dad and Grandpa. Ken proudly watched as his family grew. The grandsons gave Ken new hobbies, he loved to listen to their stories, fishing successes and to watch them play hockey. Our heartfelt thanks is extended to our family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. A funeral service honouring Kenneth Kiel will be held on May 5, 2016 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Highway 7, Teulon, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Teulon, MB. I just heard from an old friend that Lawrence had passed away and was shocked to find Kenneth's name in the obituaries as well. I'm so sorry Marlene - it's been years since I had seen you - I believe Christmas around 2000 was the last time. As you know, my sister made life so miserable for me after Mom passed away that I had to move. I thought of all of you many times and wondered how you were doing. I have no idea what happened to Kenneth - but I hope he didn't suffer! - Posted by: Judy Andres (nee Kiel) (Cousin) on: Sep 30, 2016

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. We met Emil and Elsie through Elsie and Leo Selch after we immigrated to Canada from Germany. The Kiel family was a very friendly family and invited us to their farm where we met their children Lawrence, Marvin an Kenneth. My husband Botho Guenther worked with Kenneth at the Langner Construction. My husband passed away 16 years ago in Winnipeg and I myself live now with my daughter Janine and her family in West Vancouver. Please give my best wishes to the Kiel family.
