KATIE BOCK Katherine (Neufeld) Bock, better known as Katie, passed away on April 29, 2016 at Concordia Place Personal Care Home. Katie, the eldest of five children, was born on June 5, 1921 in Sagradovka, Russia. In 1926, her family immigrated to Canada and settled near Wolseley, Saskatchewan where they farmed for two years, after which they moved to Manitoba and settled near Niverville. This is where Katie married John Bock on June 9, 1945 and together they raised their family on a farm south of Clearwater, Manitoba where she was actively involved in community and church endeavours. In 1973, they left the farm and made a new home in Winnipeg. Katie was predeceased by her parents, Abram and Katharine Neufeld, brothers Frank and Dietrich, as well as one sister, Elizabeth (Betty). Left to cherish her memory are her husband John, daughters Janet Bock, Barbara Town (Bob), Edith Ginter (Gerald) and Laura Molgat (Ron). She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Sean Town (Jacquie), Andrew Town (Dielle), Renae Molgat (Rick) and Justin Molgat. She is also survived by one sister Charlotte Lepp (Conn), as well as extended family and friends. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Concordia Place for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment at Mennonite Memorial Gardens, 61 Linacre Road, will follow the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Katie's memory to Mennonite Central Committee or a charity of your own choice.
