KARL KOHLER October 9, 1941 - May 3, 2016 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Karl, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. KARL KOHLER October 9, 1941 - May 3, 2016 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Karl, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Winnipeg, October 9, 1941 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Arborg and District Health Centre after a brief battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Oskar (1967), Martha (1978), and his brother Oskar (2001). Karl leaves to cherish his memory his wife Melita (Milly), daughters Rose (Murray Dick), Alice (Jim Windebank), Joanne (Wayde Roberts), and Janine MacFarlane; grandsons James (Erin) Dick, Shaun Dick, Ryan, Tyler, Christian Roberts, James MacFarlane, and great-granddaughter Lily Dick. Karl grew up and worked on the family farm near Finns as well as working out on various construction jobs and truck driving throughout the years. After moving to Arborg he continued to work for Lake Centre Farm Service as a truck driver, which he greatly enjoyed. He purchased his own truck and was self-employed for a period, though he later returned to construction work. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church or the Palliative Care Centre at the Arborg and District Health Centre.
