KAZIMIR WIATROWSKI
Born: Apr 06, 1926
Date of Passing: Apr 30, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAZIMIR (KAS) WIATROWSKI On April 30, 2016, Kazimir (Kas) Wiatrowski passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Grace Hospital. He will be missed by his wife Anne, of 58 years, sons Joe (Carla), Jay (Janet), daughter Janet (Dennis), grandchildren Kasydi, Zachary, Alison, Quinn, Bram and Devin, and great-grandchildren Beau, Dean and Colt. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Kas was born on April 6, 1926, the middle child of three to a Polish family, a heritage that Kas took great pride in. Kas grew up in Winnipeg and began his work life by enlisting in the Canadian Air Force. After discharge, he worked in many industries until he joined the City of Winnipeg Waterworks Department where he worked with pride and pleasure until his retirement. Though often quiet, he had many passions. As a young man, he explored the Red River in his yellow canoe, and came to love the outdoors especially rivers, lakes and the creatures that lived in them. As an adult, he was an avid reader and closely followed all levels of political decision-making and process. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years, and spent many happy summers at the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach. He was also a gifted musician and has passed along his love and talent for music to his children and grandchildren. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the Grace Hospital 5th floor staff and the emergency department staff for the outstanding care and kindness given to our father and ourselves during the past few weeks. Palliative home care, though short-lived, was equally outstanding and very much appreciated. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Dr. R. George and Dr. J. Joshua for their care and kindness. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Kas's memory to the Grace Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. In keeping with Kas's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

I would like to pass on my condolences to the Wiatrowski family. Kaz was a dedicated worker and was a great friend. I worked with him for many years at McPhillips pumping station. He will be missed by many past co-workers. - Posted by: Brad Childe (co-worker) on: May 08, 2016
