JOHN ELMO EYJOLFUR SVEINSON October 25, 1937 - April 28, 2016 On Thursday, April 28, 2016, John, aged 78 years, passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Manitoba with the love, comfort and support of his family. Cherishing fond memories are his loving wife Esther, of 57 years; his daughters Cheryl (Don), and Wendy (Wes); son Darren (Esther); grandchildren Charis, Dale (David) and Devin (Nichole), Janeen (Kurt), Brendan (Larissa), Alida and Corinna; great-grandchildren Cerin, Kallie, Mia and Ian; brothers Allan (Donna), Sveinn (Vicky), Ben (Milly), Glenn (Audrey), Dennis (Laura), and Ken (Gwen); sisters Marie (Nick), Donna (Raymond), Darlene (Alan) and Maeva (Tim); sisters-in-law Mary, Elaine (Gordon) and Linda (Dan); aunt Yvonne Gibson, and numerous other relatives. John was predeceased by his parents Agust and Marie, brothers Cecil and Roy, in-laws Eric and Ida Nightingale, Mabel and Glen Self, Miki Sveinson and Mary Sveinson, along with nieces Pattie Sveinson and Crystal Taman. Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff of the Lakeshore, E.M. Crowe Memorial in Eriksdale and Health Care Services for their compassionate care over the past months. A special thank you for the many visits at home and the hospital during this difficult time and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. An interment will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in the Faulkner Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Faulkner Community Hall with Pastor Mark Just officiating.
