LYLAH CHRISTINE MYERS (nee MIDDLETON) Peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016, Lylah passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gerard (Gerry) Myers; her brothers, Robert and Donald Middleton and her granddaughter Caitlin Mancer. Left to mourn are her children Kate Mancer (Alan), Pat Law (Brian), Don Myers, and Lawrence Myers (Cheryl); her grandchildren, Robyn Law, Stephen Mancer, Katrina and Gabriella Myers; and many other relatives and friends. Lylah was raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and after high school worked for the Saskatchewan government in Regina until her marriage in 1945. Lylah and Gerry moved to Vancouver where Gerry attended UBC, they began raising a family and Gerry began his career in social work. After Vancouver, the family lived in Calgary for several years before moving to Winnipeg in 1961. After Gerry's tragic death in 1967, Lylah attended teachers' college at the University of Manitoba and taught in the St. Vital school Division for 13 years before her retirement in 1982. She was a staunch member of the Presbyterian Church and belonged to various church committees over the years. She had a great sense of humour, loved sports, especially hockey, and enjoyed many wonderful times with family and friends over the course of her long life. A celebration of her life will be held on May 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Special thanks to the wonderful home care workers at Home Instead and to the dedicated doctors and nurses at Victoria General Hospital.   • Our hearts go out to the entire family, Lyla was a wonderful lady,. we will always have our memories of the fun times we had with her at the home of Cheryl & Lawrence. Never a dull moment with Lyla in the room. Heaven just welcomed another beautiful Angel. We will miss the conversations between Lawrence and his Mother, such a wonderful , bright & lovely woman, we were blessed to have her in our lives.
