DAVID ANDREW GLOVER
Date of Passing: May 04, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID (DAVE) ANDREW GLOVER It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David (Dave) Andrew Glover on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the age of 50 years. David passed surrounded by family after a short and difficult battle with ALS. David's memory will be forever cherished and he will be missed greatly by his mom, Joan Glover; sisters, Jackie Glover and Sandra (Glover) Morison, as well as nephews Stephen, Scott and Ryan who all loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his dad Steve Glover in 1981, and we are comforted by the fact that they are now together again. David also leaves behind the Palmer family; the Cole family; many aunts; uncles; and cousins in England; many lifelong close friends who were very important to him, and many co-workers from past and present. David was also predeceased by his uncle Jeff from Winnipeg; his uncle Norman from Liverpool, England; his grandparents on both sides and his beloved dog Tasha. David was so full of life and had a great sense of humour. He loved living on the edge, breaking the rules and making others laugh. He loved being outdoors fishing, boating, snowmobiling, watching the Winnipeg Jets play hockey, or driving around in his cherished Ford Raptor Truck, but above everything, David loved his family and close friends the most. He was an amazing carpenter, a perfectionist in everything he did and he took great pride in his work. About ten years ago, David went back to college and university to become a carpentry teacher at Tech Voc High School. Being a teacher was so fulfilling for him, both the students and teachers added a lot of joy to David's life. A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue. We would like to thank, from the bottom of our heart, all the family and friends that provided so much love and support to David and our family. Words cannot express the difference it has made. We would also like to thank the many Palliative Care staff, with special gratitude to Trish and Tamara (his favourite nurses), Angela and Diana from the ALS Society and the staff at Deer Lodge Centre. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in David's memory to the ALS Society, 2A, 1717 Dublin Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3H 0H2, any no kill animal shelter or a charity of your choice. I met David Glover in my Grade 12 year (might have been grade 11 when he was a student teacher) back in 2009-2010 he was not only an amazing teacher but a friend that I regret not being more close with. Throughout that year I wanted to quit the carpentry course several times (not gonna lie I was very harsh on myself when I didn't get things exactly right) and he always taught me that being so hard on myself would get me nowhere, it was at that point he saw something in me that I didn't see in myself. He believed in me when even I didn't, he spurred me on to always give 120% and never give up. It's amazing that for one year you see this person a teacher from 9 am til 3:30 pm and you just see them as a teacher. With Dave it was different you saw a person that cares about you and wants to build that relationship with you. Anyone who now no longer gets to meet this great man is missing something truly special and I will always carry his lessons with me to for the rest of my life in my heart. Thank you Mr. Glover for guiding me to become the man I am today. - Posted by: Renato Faria (Students) on: May 14, 2016

It is with great sadness that I write this. My condolences to the family. I first met David in September 1980 when he had enrolled in the Carpentry program at St. James Collegiate. He was one of my top three students for the duration of the three year program. He was a pleasant, polite young man who was serious about excelling in the program. His quality of work was high. He did the assigned projects as well as self directed projects. He was a pleasure to have in the program. The program was of two 65 minute classes per day for the entire three years, consequently I got to know him quite well during that time. It was quite clear that David would succeed in life due to his work ethic. I am also happy to learn that he succeeded in his goal of becoming a Carpentry teacher prior to his untimely death. I am quite sure that his students learned a lot from him. Ed Bailey, former Carpentry Instructor, St. James Collegiate. - Posted by: Ed Bailey (Teacher) on: May 12, 2016
