Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOSCAR (BUDDY) GUDMUNDSON April 18, 1936 - May 3, 2016 In Loving Memory Buddy peacefully passed away on May 3, 2016 at the age of 80 years old at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. Buddy was born in Lundar and lived here all of his life. He also took his schooling in Lundar. Buddy worked for Arthur and Thelma Sigfusson, Brandson Bros. and Swan Creek Fish Hatchery until his retirement. Buddy was of a quiet nature. He enjoyed hunting deer, reading, watching movies and listening to music. He loved spending time with his friends, especially with his special nephews Riley and Dusty. He is survived by his two sisters Elinor Maksymetz of Calgary and Ollie VonHagen of Saskatoon, his numerous nieces and nephews along with his adopted family Jim and Wanda Brandson and his special nephews Riley and Dusty Brandson. Buddy is predeceased by his parents Lukka and Jon Gudmundson, sister Runa Kade (Harry), brother Franklin Gudmundson (Irene), sister Edna Carlson (Bill), sister Thelma Gudmundson, brother Einar Gudmundson (Margaret), sister Lily Nairne (Alfred); brothers-in-law Bill Maksymetz and Garry VonHagen. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment to be held in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Lunch will follow in the Lundar Community Hall. Pallbearers will be Roy Brandson, Fred Brandson, Jim Brandson, Riley Brandson, Dusty Brandson and Dwight McGillan. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers for Buddy that day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lundar Personal Care Home, c/o Kelly Eirikson, PO Box 296, Lundar, MB, R0C 1Y0 or a charity of one's choice.
