ELISABETH P. SAWATZKY (FROESE) Suddenly and unexpectedly, on May 4, 2016, Elisabeth P. Sawatzky passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 79. Elisabeth is survived by her son John (Chantille) Sawatzky, daughters Lolita (Gary) Loewen, and Marina (Richard) Rempel, and her grandchildren Chlista (Doug) Hawco, Levi and Chelsea Sawatzky, Monica, Alex, and Theo Loewen, along with Natalie and Courtney Rempel and great-grandchildren Joey and Ruby. Elisabeth was born in 1937 in the Ukraine. She immigrated to Winnipeg in 1967 with her son John. On November 1, 1969 she married the love of her life George Sawatzky. Elisabeth worked at Pauline's for 20 years, providing for her family. Retiring in 1991 Elisabeth spent her time enjoying travel, adventures, days at the cottage, and time with her children and grandchildren. The funeral service will be on May 9, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay, with Pastor Jack Dyck, and Erwin Kroeker officiating. Visitation will take place 45 min prior to the service. A fellowship meal will follow with the interment at the Mennonite Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elisabeth Sawatzky may be made to the Victoria Hospital ICU Department.
