MAURICE HENRY PEARCE (May 30, 1932 - October 8, 2015) Maurice Henry Pearce, much loved husband, father, and grandfather, after a short stay in St. Boniface Hospital, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2015. Maurice leaves behind his wife of sixty years, Irene (Hamlyn), four sons, Ken (Candace); Ted (Cheryl); Scott and Kelly, plus two grandchildren, Brock (Melinda) and Breanne (Nick) who will all miss him so very much. He is also survived by his sister Dilys (Ken) Collier, sisters-in-law, Lynda (Jim) Michaluk, Marge (Marty) Peterson, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Maurice was born and grew up in Bradwardine, Manitoba (NW 1/4 OF S14.T11.R22 Daly Municipality, Tarbolton District, Bradwardine Post Office, Manitoba), the son of Helen Margaret and Matthew Henry (Harry) Pearce. Maurice was employed by Canadian National Railway as a locomotive engineer, retiring in 1995. Maurice was a true family man. His greatest love was his family and home. Any occasion was a good excuse for the many gatherings at the Pearce home and pool. He and Irene made a great team preparing for and hosting these events. Maurice realized his dream of flying in 1984 when he earned his private pilot's license. Maurice and Irene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on the August 2015 long weekend. Many thanks to our family and close friends for the support and kindness they showed to Maurice. Also, our heartfelt thanks to all those involved in his care the past three years. We invite family and friends to join us as we remember Maurice and celebrate a life well lived at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We were very sorry to hear of Maurice death and send our sympathy to Dilys and other family members. I worked on the Pearce family farm during my school vacations in the 1940's, mostly during the fall harvest, when Maurice's father, Harry Pearce, drove the tractor and Maurice and I operated the two binders which were towed behind. - Posted by: keith maitland (attended Bradwardine school) on: May 08, 2016
