JOHN HUTA 1924 - 2016 The family of John Huta are saddened to announce his passing on May 2, 2016 at Crocus Court Personal Care Home in Roblin, MB, where he had been a resident for the past two years. John was born on November 5, 1924 on a farm in the Silver Creek Municipality near Angusville, MB to Charles and Sophie Huta (nee Gensorek). Dad was very proud that he had completed grade 12. At that time, it was quite an accomplishment. He returned to the farm when his mom was ill. Dad married Cassie Buhay in August 1951. They moved to Kelwood, MB where they began a small business. Sonya was born there in 1954. After a fire destroyed their business, they moved to Winnipeg and Wesley was born there in 1955. Dad was employed at the Post Office, H & R Block, and various other companies. He was very passionate about the Injured Workers Association of Manitoba which he founded. Dad loved playing cards, travelling, socializing, and playing bingo. Dad is survived by his daughter Sonya (Vern Effa); and their three children, Breanne (Garett Beres), Scott (Jessie Toffan), and Darla (Taylor Lang). Dad was so proud of his five great-grandchildren, Grady, Baylee, Stevie, Tobbi, and Taylor. He was predeceased by his wife Cassie in 2000; his son Wesley in 2006; brothers, Mike, Nick, Tony, Steve, and Harry; sisters, Eva Lesirek and Annie Boryskavich. He is survived by sisters Jean Komaransky and Mary Boryskavich; as well as many nieces and nephews. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sonia, Vern, and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Dear Dad/ Gedo/Great Gedo. He was a man of stature and pride. I have fond memories of being at your house for vacations in the summer time. Your parents were both very generous and kind to us and looked after our well being when we were there. Every Christmas since your Dad has been unable to visit our house we mention his absence. I am sorry I am not able to attend the funeral, but my thoughts will be with you.
