Jean is survived by her beloved husband Michael of 66 years; daughter Valerie, son Grant (Kim); granddaughters Jacqueline (Tyler), and Kristen (Tyler); sisters Phyllis, and Bernice and numerous nephews and nieces. From the time I was a young married mother shopping the the former Woolco, I remember Jean, a very friendly and kind lady. Still today, I make the cabbage Perishky recipe that she gave me. She told me they would "just melt in your mouth"and I would never needed another recipe for these tasty Ukrainian little cabbage buns that are a must at every wedding shower and of course, for Ukrainian Christmas Eve. God bless her and condolences to her family. I know she was a great loss to them. - Posted by: Kathy Fecio (Customer at Woolco ) on: Dec 01, 2016

Being a friend and neighbour of Grant, I have fond memories of Mrs. Tymchuk as she always treated me as she did Grant. I remember Saturday nights at the Tymchuks watching hockey night in Canada and Mrs Tymchuk always served our favourite... Old Dutch chips, dip and pop. Didn't matter which team won. Just a great family evening. I lived on Tudor Crescent for many years and always appreciated and valued Mrs Tymchuk. Grant, Valerie and Mr. Tymchuk, I share in your loss and know that happiness is in your Memory of Jean. Gary Pauls - Posted by: Gary Pauls (Grants childhood friend) on: May 17, 2016

Very saddened to read about Jean's passing in today's Free Press. Had the pleasure of working with her at Woolco years ago. She was such a wonderful, kind, caring person and a joy to spend time with! Great sense of Humor! Jean any time I shall think of you I will always have a smile on my face and thank you for your friendship, I was the lucky one indeed to have known you.
