SANDRA SHUMILA (nee FURST) After a lengthy illness we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sandra Shumila in the early morning of May 9, 2016. Sandra is survived by her husband of 54 years Allan, her two sons Darren (Crystal), Cory (Sandy), granddaughter Dianna and her great-grandchildren Nygel, Devon and Vienna, brother Gordon Furst (Donna) and sister in law Marge along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra is predeceased by her parents Robert and Florence Furst, her oldest brother Ervin and brother Norman who passed in infancy. Sandra was born August 8, 1944 in Beausejour Mb. Sandra and Allan met and were later married on August 4, 1962. First son Darren was born in 1965 and Cory was born in 1969. Shortly after that they moved to their current home in North Kildonan. Mom worked at several different jobs over the years. Her spare time was spent looking after her family and and helping out on the family farm. Sandra will be missed in many ways as a wife, a mother, a grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She touched so many people in her lifetime and we are all better for knowing her. The world lost a GREAT person today. The family would like to thank Dr. Lage, the staff at Concordia Hospital and Cancer Care Manitoba for their care and compassion with mother at this difficult time of our lives. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A Celebration of Sandra's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at Glen Eden Funeral Home at 4477 Main Street.
