Born: Apr 30, 1935
Date of Passing: May 09, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD REGINALD BLOIS It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Reg Blois, who passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on May 9, 2016 at Oakview Place. Reg leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Glenda (Gadway), his children Cheryl (Bruce), Don (Doreen), Lori (Trevor), and grandchildren Stephanie, Allison, Cynthia, Dylan and Natasha. Reg was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Mary Christina Blois, brothers Junior, Jerry, and sisters Dorothy, Rose, and survived by brothers Jackie (Sally), Lawrence (Colleen), and sisters Silvia (Deucey), Eleanor (Graham), Rita (Keith), and Linda. Reg was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on April 30, 1935, the third eldest of 10 children. Reg joined his father and older brother in the coal mines of Glace Bay at a young age. He soon joined the Armed Forces where he began a career as an electrician. His first posting with the Armed Forces was to Macdonald, Manitoba where he met Glenda Gadway and they were married in 1958. They continued to travel with the military to Alberta, Germany, British Columbia and back to Manitoba where he retired in 1982. He then began working for CN until 1993 when he retired for good. Reg had many interests but really enjoyed playing golf, taking his best buddy Molly for long walks, and working in his yard. His true calling though was being a Grandpa (Pinky). He adored his five grandchildren and they loved spending time with him. Reg has requested no service, just remember his smile and good sense of humour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society. A special thank you to the staff at Oakview Place for taking care of Dad. Uncle Reg was a special uncle and definitely had the best sense of humor!! He will be missed by many of his nieces and nephews. He was the uncle that made you feel at home whenever you were at their house and always made you smile. I have many memories of him from family gatherings, and will always remember his love of scones and family !! My Condolences to you Auntie Glenda, and to all my cousins. - Posted by: Melanie Schierle (Niece) on: May 18, 2016
