ELMER O.E. BERGMAN April 18, 1926 - May 9, 2016 Husband, Dad, Papa, and Grandfather, Elmer suddenly passed away after a stubborn and hard fought battle on May 9, 2016 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Elmer is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Hildy, children Elin (Marc), Lesa and Jim (Lisa), and grandchildren Ali, Kirsten, Reid, Andrew, Sofia, Anders and Erik. He was utterly devoted to his family and ever so proud of his children and grandchildren. Elmer was born in Silverton, B.C., and graduated with awards from UBC. As a Chartered Accountant, his career culminated as Office Managing Partner at KPMG Winnipeg. Elmer was a man of deep Christian faith and devotion. He was a huge armchair sports fan, and stats accumulator; watching hockey, CFL, curling, tennis, baseball and golf. He was an avid golfer, and loved the 19th hole and lunches with his buddies. Elmer will always be remembered for his teasing manner, determination, sense of humour, and that special twinkle in his eye. There was nothing more enjoyable to him than sitting around with his family talking about their accomplishments and dreams. His incredible intelligence and high standards were known and felt by all. Elmer was a mentor and example to all who knew him. You will be missed and loved always. Memorial services will be held at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 274 Campbell Street on Friday, May 20 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6.
