HILDA EWERT October 7, 1920 - May 13, 2016 Surrounded by the love of her family, Hilda Ewert, of Winnipeg, MB, formerly of Steinbach, MB, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her seven children: Richard (Lynne) Ewert, Ruth Ewert, Joyce McInnes, Bert (Leona) Ewert, Bernie (Shirley) Ewert, Peter (Diane) Ewert and Donald (Wendy) Ewert; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: brother Peter (Rheta Mae) Wiebe, sister Mary (Dave) Friesen, sister Linda (Jake) Wall and brother Leonard (Phyllis) Wiebe. She was predeceased by her husband George G. Ewert in 2002. The viewing will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will be on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10.30 a.m. at Glen Eden Cemetery, Winnipeg, MB. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Mennonite Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, MB. Should friends so desire, donations in her memory of Hilda may be made to Square One Media and/or Compassion Canada. Special thanks to: Hospital Home Team and Palliative Manitoba who provided excellent care and support in her final weeks and days.
