Dad worked construction around the province and, as a result, we lived in some interesting places, lastly living in Thompson, MB for nine years. Mom and Dad eventually moved to Eriksdale where he was employed with the Highways Department until he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, creating things, especially his animal traps, gardening, harvesting the crop and sharing it with others which brought him joy. He had many talents, even baking bread. One of his greatest joys was music and he was a talented musician who could play a number of instruments. Many enjoyable sing songs were had. "Coffee Black" LARA MALCOLM (nee THORGRIMSON) August 8, 1937 - December 29, 2015 Mom was predeceased by Dad on May 14, 2015 and she missed him terribly. She was also predeceased by her infant son Larry. Mom passed away on December 29, 2015 with family by her side. She is survived by sons Blaine (Laura), John (Diane), Trent and daughter Lara. Missing their Amma are Tegan (Wade), Donny (Carla), Laura (Sean), Leilia (Justyn) and Logan. Mom was very proud when she became a Lang-Amma to Axel and Elie Malcolm and Elise and Ronan Sobey. She is also survived by her sisters Ada (Stan), Freda, Pam (Carl, who has since passed), Lorna (Les) and all their families. She also survived and predeceased by her in-laws and relatives as stated in Dad's obituary. Also missing her are her good friends Ted, Gwen, Misty (whom she thought of as a granddaughter) and family. Mom enjoyed reading, solving crosswords, music (especially playing guitar at home with Dad). She spent many hours gardening with Dad and doing the finishing work on his woodworking projects. Mom and Dad were a team. They could accomplish anything they put their minds to from homemade sauerkraut and smoked suckers to building a greenhouse and making their own secret mixture of soil. Mom and Dad, we miss you and love you dearly "Together Forever" Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
