ALEXANDER BASARAB Unexpectedly, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at his residence, Alexander Basarab, aged 76 years of East Selkirk, MB, beloved life partner of Elsie Dorosh passed away. Full obituary to follow. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

  • Alex remodelled our cottage in Matlock and I adopted him as "my dad"! Working with him over the three or four summers at the cottage was such a treat! His workmanship was immaculate and I look around our cottage and admire his creation! I really had fun with Alex! He took what was in my head and made it a reality. He was always friendly and humorous, and asked about my family too. I am so sad he has passed. I wondered because he usually called once a year to see how we were, and we had not heard from him..
