Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROMUALD (RON) SCHMIDTKE MAY 8, 1931 - May 18, 2016 Romuald passed away at Grace Hospital at the age of 85 years. Ron leaves to mourn Olga, his wife of 59 years; his son Kurth (Chantal); grandson Tristan; granddaughter Kassia; and brothers Arnold (Alice), Reinhold (Arlene) and Helmut (Lori) and many nieces and nephews. Romuald was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1950. His family followed in 1951. Ron married Olga on May 26, 1956. They lived in Winnipeg until 1991 at which time they moved to Kelowna before returning to Winnipeg in 2009. Ron had a varied career that started as a cabinet maker and led him to own many businesses including sales of furniture, television and stereo equipment as well as a gas bar /car wash. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards. The funeral service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery), on Wednesday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
