Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN BARKMAN January 4, 1923 - May 25, 2016 Jean passed away peacefully at the age of 93. She will be lovingly remembered by her children William (Sylvia), Joan (Brian) Alderdice, Patricia Barkman, Carol (Erik) Mast and Don, and grandchildren Andrew, Tyler, Rick and Shelly. She was predeceased by her husband William. She was a hard working person devoted very much to her home and family, while working part time, volunteering and being dedicated to her church. She also made time for fun things such as bowling and cards. She was a kind and generous person with a clever wit and an ability to make people feel comfortable around her and will be greatly missed by her family. The family would like to thank all the staff at West Park Manor, and cousin Connie, for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Jean's Life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. I won't be able to attend the celebration in person but in thought, I will be there, however I did want everyone to know that she was the best Mother in Law, in spite of in law jokes, I was honored and thrilled to have her in our lives, she was awesome, kind, generous, loving, and welcomed one into her family.
