MIKE BURZUIK November 12, 1939 - May 27, 2016 Mike went to the arms of his Lord peacefully in sleep at his residence, Walske Residence. He was preceded by his parents Nicolas and Mary Burzuik, his cousins Norman and Betty Burzuik, whom he and his mother made their home with for many years, and by his dear friend Doug Walske. Mike leaves his brother Bill (Maureen) Burzuik, many cousins, friends, extended family Gary and Grace Mowat and their family, Joey Delaronde and Raymond Porayko. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters in faith at St. Clements Anglican Church, where he was a life-long member. Mike was born and raised in Mapleton, MB. He always had a special zest for life; he had many interests. He loved Elvis, country and western music, dancing, bowling, and he was an avid collector' and photographer and a true monarchist. He loved social gatherings and a good eat'. Mike took several memorable trips, including Cuba and Graceland. He participated in the Special Olympics. He was a participant of Arc Industries and Selkirk Community Living Program where he made many lifelong friends. Mike's greatest joy was family. He was a big kid at heart and all the "Kids" have a special place in their hearts for "Big Mike". His love knew no barriers. To celebrate his life, a funeral service will be held in the St. Clements Anglican Church, Mapleton, MB, on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior to, the Venerable Archdeacon Godfrey Mawejje officiating with the Reverend Ken Pawluk. Interment to follow. Active pallbearers are Kelvin Burzuik, Chris Kurbis, Connor Mowat, Gary Mowat, Don Little, and Tom Orum; honorary pallbearers are Joey Delaronde, Raymond Parayko, Callan Mowat, Keith Kurbis, and Karrie Burzuik. He was a true blessing to all who knew him. A good soul never dies. Memorial donations may be made to Selkirk and District Community Foundation, 200 Eaton Ave., Selkirk, MB R1A 0W6.   • I have the honour of knowing Mike and many years ago he used the bus to get to Monday Bowling, at which time I had met him . And over the years as I saw Mike out and about , Mike always waved a Hello and many a time we shared a search among hidden treasures at various sales or stores.
