Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK RAUCH June 10, 1935 May 30, 2016 Peacefully on May 30, 2016, Frank Rauch, aged 80, passed away at his residence. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Chris (Yana) with grandchildren Brittny and Amelia, and Ron (Denise); their mother Hedy Rauch; sisters, Maria Rauch, and Hilda (Rolf) Henning; nieces and nephews, Wally (Sheila) Rauch, Chris (Annick), Clint (Meghan), Brenda (Hobie) Searles, Steven Henning, Michelle (Jody) Marchant with Hannah, Carolin (Urs) Luginbuehl with Nicole (Alex), Paul Rauch, Ramona (Chris) Mohr, Kevin (Cindy) Barbitsch with Anya. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Josef; sister Frieda Mohr; brothers, Joe and Bob; sister-in-law Rose Rauch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Josef and Herta Barbitsch. Frank was born June 10, 1935 in Unterlag, Slovenia and immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1953, moving initially to Homewood, MB, then making Winnipeg home after several years in New York. Frank was a devoted son, brother, father, and grandfather; always there to lend a hand and to make sure that his family was taken care of. In more recent years, he especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Amelia. He was well-read, and a skilled tradesman, working in construction for many years, and brought the same attention to detail to everything he did. Frank was also involved in the local German community for many years, as a long-standing member of the Kolping Society, the German Club, and the German Choir. He will be sincerely missed, and lovingly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Reception to follow. All Kolping members express their sympathy at the passing of your Dad, grandfather, brother, etc. He was a well respected member for many years, and we all knew him well. He was our S.t Nickolas at Christmas for years! It is our custom, as a society to make a donation of $200 whenever someone passes away, to help with the luncheon, or the funeral costs.
