GEORGE DONEY George Edward Doney passed away on May 27, 2016, at Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 86. He is survived by daughter Sharon Sveinson (Kelly), daughter Dianne Doney, son Glen Doney, and grandchildren Kelly, Kate and Zoë. He was predeceased by wife Mary, of 35 years, sister Winnifred Hibberd, brother Bob Doney, and special friend Lorraine Reimer. George was born in Winnipeg on February 22, 1930, growing up in Fort Rouge. He worked in accounting with Canada Packers and Manitoba Highways. In retirement, George volunteered at personal care homes where he played the piano. George enjoyed the outdoors year round. Spirit Park, along the Seine River, was his favourite place to walk. He was always on the lookout for wildlife, or critters as he called them. A memorial service will take place on June 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
