BJARNI SIGVALDI (BARNEY) SIGVALDASON With his wife and girls by his side, peacefully left earth. Predeceased by his grandson Craig Kindzierski; parents, Sigvaldi and Lara Sigvaldason; parents-in-law, Bill and Nell Marchuk; brothers, Alvin Siggs, Edwin and Wilmar Sigvaldason; sister-in-law June Siggs; and brother-in-law Allen Marchuk. Survived by his brother Lloyd (Sigurlin) and sisters-in-law, Hazel Sigvaldason and Angie Kent (Ken). Bjarni and Irene were married for nearly 60 years and he professed many times "I'm happy I picked you." Together they raised five beautiful girls, Lynn (Kevin Anderson), Georgia (Robin Senkow), Tracy (Chuck Edwards), Wendy (Brett Lough) and Nicole (Don Poirier); grandchildren, Madison and Dempsey Senkow, Melanie and Garret Cassels, Demi and Rhett Lough. Bjarni enjoyed his lifelong career of farming and after retirement supervised much of Brent's field work from the view out of his living room window. He also enjoyed sitting around the bonfire, having a few beers and travelling with family friends, Ernie and Lee. Dad had a great sense of humour and with his sideways smirk, he would hit you with a funny one line zinger. You had to pay attention because if you missed it, it was never repeated! Barney served many years on the Arborg Co-op and Credit Union boards, loved the community he grew up in and helped out whenever he could. Our husband, father, brother, uncle and friend had a happy "almost 90" years on this earth. Be with your grandson, family and friends. A big thank you to all the special people that took care of Dad; all the Homecare, Personal Care Home and Arborg District Hospital staff for all the caring that you do! Big special thank you to Dr. Siddiqui for all your help and honesty. As per Barney's request, there will be no funeral, a private family interment will take place.
