LAURA WOJCIECHOWSKI 1921 - 2016 Laura passed away peacefully during the early hours on February 3, 2016. Laura was predeceased by her mother Helena and father Dominik, sisters and brothers, Sophie, Josie, Edward, Rudolph, Frances, Balbina, Lewis, David and Henry. She is survived by her niece Laverne. Laura was born in Brightstone, Manitoba. She spent all her life on the family farm near Lac du Bonnet. She loved gardening, animals and berry picking. She liked growing vegetables and flowers. She grew huge potatoes and raspberries. The purple lilacs against the white fence always looked spectacular and greeted every visitor in the spring. During the holidays, she always made deep fried prune buns. She always liked to stop for a nip and fries after doing her grocery shopping. Everything was always considered "good enough". Everyone loved to hear her stories of the cows, pigs, chickens, geese and dogs on the farm with names like Pansy, Prince, Blackie and Brownie. Her storytelling will be missed. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Whitemouth Personal Care Home for making her last few years comfortable. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please donate to Lac du Bonnet and District Charitable Foundation in memory of Laura. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, at Red Deer Cemetery on Holyk Road in the R.M. of Lac du Bonnet.
