IRENE MARTHA HAMABERG (nee LINDLEY) May 16, 1937 - June 20, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce our Mom, Grandma, Granny, Baba and Great-Grandma; Irene Hamaberg passed away June 20 with family by her side at Teulon Hospital. Mom is survived by her four children; Allan (Heather), Barb (Brian), Val (Terry), Kelly (Lisa); her nine Grandchildren: Melissa (Michael), Mathew, Michael (Tammy), Daryl (Krista), Erin (Tynan), Derek, Courtney, Samantha (Justin), Alex (Brianna); and her three Great-Granddaughters: Raeanna, Jocelyn and Madison. Her sister Elaine (Walter) Glowachuk and brother Leonard (Josie) Lindley. Also, her sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Bob Hamaberg (June 28, 1992) and parents Bob and Polly Lindley. Mom was raised on the family farm in Balmoral and attended Balmoral school. Mom briefly moved to Winnipeg and worked at Eatons, but she soon married the love of her life Bob Hamaberg on June 28, 1958. Together they moved to Dad's family farm in the Norris Lake area where they raised their family. Mom and Dad made a great team farming and were always together. Mom's family was her life but she was also very active socially and had many friends. Mom loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughters and enjoyed cheering loudly at their events. Mom was a very active community member who loved volunteering, community dances, and bingo. We love you and will miss you always. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. We would like to thank all the home-care workers, Dr. Loudon, and all of the caring nurses and staff at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they gave mom.
