Annie was born on November 1, 1929. She grew up on a farm in East Selkirk, Manitoba where she attended Happy Thought School until Grade 8. She was the fourth child of seven children. She left home at the age of 15 years. She worked as a nanny for a family in Gilbert Plains, at a hospital in Saskatchewan and then St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. She married Robert D'Hont on September 8, 1951 in East Selkirk, Manitoba. After several years of farming in southwestern Manitoba, they settled in the north end of Winnipeg where they raised their three children. Annie enjoyed the simple things in life and took much pleasure being a stay-at-home Mom. She watched her children grow up and enjoyed seeing their accomplishments. She was a great cook and always prepared delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals. She enjoyed hobbies such as cross stitch, sewing and knitting. Annie also enjoyed music. In her working years, she took lessons and played the accordion. At home, there was always country music playing on the radio. Later in life, she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Annie has resided at St. Joseph's Personal Care Home since 2007, where she enjoyed playing bingo and attending Church three to four times a week. A highlight of her last year was her 85th birthday party, where she enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren and three of her great-grandchildren which were born earlier that year. Annie was a very religious woman and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and then St. Anthony's of Padua Church, West Kildonan.
