(OLIVER) MAC WILLIAMS On June 26, 2016, (Oliver) Mac Williams passed quietly away from this world while surrounded by his family. He goes to join his beloved wife Margaret (Keir), parents, Raymond and Vera and brothers, Glen, Ross and Jack. Mac will be so greatly missed by his sister Gwen (Dennis), daughters, Brenda Marie (Ray) and Lani (Matthew), grandchildren, Woodrow, Tova, Alaina (Erik), Daerion, Jordann and Logan, relatives and friends. Mac was born on May 3, 1932, in the farming community of Rosebank. He loved sports and played fastball, hockey, golf, swimming and curling in the Briers. He loved the outdoors and travelled across Canada and abroad. He was an adventurer at heart and believed a good walk was, at the very least, a few miles long. Mac loved music and played the guitar, piano, drums, harmonica and the fife. He sang in the Charleswood United Church choir, Golden Chordsmen and Winnipeg Male Chorus. Mac had a terrific sense of humour and told the very best jokes. Mac achieved a Certified Management Accountancy and worked for the Manitoba Hydro Customer Service for 38 years. He helped computerize the Hydro, developed the billing system used today and helped to pioneer Hydro's Equal Payment Plan system. A terrific, caring man he then worked as treasurer and helped computerize the Charleswood United Church and Curling Club. Services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg. Interment at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., will follow. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation on his behalf. "Thanks to all for a wonderful life," - Mac For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Gwen and family. While you and Mac were older than me I have many great memories of the Williams family. I believe that you and Lyle were closer in age. Jack and I were in the same class at Ager and I did know Ross when he played hockey. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Jack Thomson (Neighbour on the farm at Rosebank) on: Jul 08, 2016

  • Hal and I offer our sincerest condolences to Mac's family on his passing. I sang with Mac in Charleswood Church choir for many years. He was truly a warm and caring human being, he was very soft spoken and was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace Mac. - Posted by: Coralie and Hal (Friends from church) on: Jul 02, 2016
