Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNABELLE HILDA AUGUST (ANN SPORNITZ) Annabelle August of Winnipeg, MB passed away June 30, 2016 at the age of 83. Daughter of Archie and Sophie August, Ann was born in Carman, Manitoba on November 12, 1932. Mom was predeceased by her parents Archie and Sophie, her beloved brother Ken in 2013, many cherished family members/friends and her first love and father of her children, Bill Spornitz, in 1998. Mom is survived by her children, Bill (Michelle), Jodi, Jan (Greg)and Melissa (Ray), ten grandchildren, Sasha, Fabian, Felix, Christy (Roy), Amanda (Luca), Melissa, Ashlie, Lindsay, Andie, Jillian; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Roy, Evan, Archer, Jacob, Michael and Arabella. Mom is also survived by her siblings Ted, Wanda, Sandra and sister-in-law Barbara. Ann was raised on the family farm in Homewood, Manitoba, leaving at age 17 to begin a life of, what she believed to be wondrous experience. She felt blessed to have been able to live in many places across Canada, to have worked in so many diverse work settings and to have had the company of so many truly wonderful people. Mom believed that each day she lived was authored by God and embraced all that occurred and all those she encountered with acceptance, reverence and love. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7, 2016. at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave, Winnipeg with Father Sam presiding. Interment to follow in the family plot in Carman, MB. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and residents of Eastgate Lodge in Beausejour for providing Mom with such respectful, professional, friendly and compassionate care. To honour Mom, donations can be made to East Gate Lodge Recreation Department, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0. In lieu of flowers, please be thoughtful and purposeful in all that you do, embrace each day as an adventure, know that each and every person you meet carries with them the essence of God and laugh. Annabelle was a lovely woman with a great smile. Although we did not see her often, we know what a great life she lived with family being her number one priority. We know she is in good company now.
