Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM SAM DONACHUK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Sam Donachuk, on Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born on February 12, 1925, to Cassie and Alex Donachuk, in Lockport, Manitoba. Husband to Blanche (Petaski); father to Darwin (Margaret) and Sam (Irene); grandfather to Kristie, Aaron (Laura), Andrew (Jen) and Samantha (Dylan); great-grandfather to Abby, Aidon, Rosa and Georgia; and cousin to Lena Hoban. Sam was so very proud of his family and all that they achieved. After the untimely death of his sister Evelyn, and the passing of his father, Sam supported his mother on the family farm at an early age of 16. Sam married Blanche in 1948, and it was on this same farm that they raised their two sons. Sam instilled hard work ethics and the importance of education in his children. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Corpus Christi Church, 5819 Henderson Highway, with Father John McKenzie officiating. A viewing will be held prior to the Mass. Pallbearers will be Aaron and Andrew Donachuk, Bob and Ralph Kubic, Joe Petaski and Dennis Banash. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses of N3 West Concordia Hospital for their kind care during Sam's stay, as well as to Dr. Duerksen. Sam was a long standing member of the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations to Corpus Christi Church would be appreciated.
