LOUIS LENARD OSIOWY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Louis Osiowy, of Hazelridge, MB, at the age of 84 years. Dad passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 2, 2016. Louis will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia (Kotello), children, Theresa (Gordon) Wasnie and granddaughter Autumn, Darryl, Darlene (Darrin) Sigurdson. He is also survived by his brother Mike (Diane) Osiowy, sister Jean Ross, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Mary, sister Adeline Lamont and brother-in-law Howard Lamont. In Dad's younger years he worked on constructing the Hazelridge Grain Elevator. Leaving the construction industry behind Dad found one of his greatest loves, building roads with Watsko Construction. He enjoyed learning and working alongside his uncles John and Ray. One of Dad's favourite memories was building roads in the Yukon. Dad was born and raised on a farm in Hazelridge. He grew up on the family farm, worked the farm, married his sweetheart and raised his family there. That's where his love for John Deere tractors, Gleaner combines and Ford trucks was born. He still actively worked on the farm until his passing. When it came time to take a bit of a rest from the farm, Dad and Mom moved to Springfield Place and joined a community of friends. Dad visited the farm daily, checking that all was well and to relax in his favourite recliner. In the last few years Dad helped Mom in the garden, cutting grass and checking their cattle. Sunday morning breakfasts at Julikins were rarely missed with lifelong friends Bill and Leona. Many thanks to the staff of CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Gingerich, Dad's best buddy Cheryl for always bringing a smile to his face, Springfield Paramedics, family friends Murray and Rod, the Concordia staff and great-niece Brooke for their wonderful care during our Dad's final moments. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Moroz, Harold Stadnyk, Bernie Magura, Elwood Lamont, Roger Moroz, Paul Watsko, Glen Leonard, and Murray Sims. A celebration of Louis' life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at The Church at Pine Ridge (Garven Road and Highway 207) with Pastor Norm Neufeld officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
