RENEE J. KERNEY (nee RENATA JOHANNA SCHERTOW) Peacefully after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer, Renee Kerney passed away on July 5, 2016 at Grace Hospice at the age of 73 with her loving husband and family by her side. Renee was predeceased by her parents John and Elisabeth Schertow, Uncles Sepp, Willie, and George Forster. Renee is survived by her husband of 50 years Jim Kerney, brothers Vic (May) Schertow, and Eric Schertow, and sister Rose (Bernhard) Fangmann. She also leaves to mourn her Aunt Katherine Forster, Allan and Judy Kerney, Myra Kerney, Judy, Linda and Ray Bartlett, Dara, Cory, Coady, and Myles Mayo, Bruce and Caroline Spence, Wade and Darlene Girard, Christina, Tom, Meaghan, Ethan, Carlina and Vienna Prud'homme, Calvin, Melodie, Samarah, Danikah, And Ryker Fangmann, David, Corinne and Adriana Fangmann, John Schertow, Adam and Colleen Stubbe, Keeana and Mia Adams, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. A special thank you to Dan and Chris Charpentier, Ken and Elva Belog, Gayle Smith, Gordon and Hazel Gould, Dave and Carol Bruce, Peter and Elvira Neufeld and Tammie Mclean for all the support they gave to Renee during her illness. Also thank you to Dr. D. Hartley, palliative care and Grace Hospice for the wonderful care given to Renee. A Memorial service will take place on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace Hospital Foundation (Grace Hospice) or Cancer Care Foundation of Manitoba in memory of Renee.
