JOY H. FOGG KAPUSTA February 29, 1936 - June 20, 2016 Joy passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 20, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Stanley G. and Maud Kennett Fogg, her four brothers, Callum, Stanley, Melville, and Raymond Fogg, nephews, Reg Fogg of Toledo Ohio and Peter Regey, and her son John "Skip" Kapusta. Cherished memories of her life will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband and best friend of 60 years, John, her children, Kathy, Sean (Sheri), and Shauna (Yugesh) and her grandchildren, Dustin (Charwin), Alaysha (Joe), Nathan, Brandy, John III, Zachary, Makayla, and Ethan. Nephews, Gary (Audrey) and great-niece Miranda, Stanley "Todd" (Melinda) of Michigan, and Robert (Vicki) of Las Vegas. Niece Jean Wilson (Fred), great-nephew Fred Jr. (Sherri) and last, but not least, all the great-great-nieces and nephews. Joy was born at the Grace Hospital on February 29, 1936, and was a proud resident of St. James her whole life. She was a long time active member of the Royal Canadian Legion #4 Branch on Portage Ave., in St. James. In her early years, she worked for Kirkfield Park Museum, Grants Old Mill, and H.L. Perry. We will always remember your strong will to succeed and your desire for us to be successful. We have always been impressed with how intelligent and independent you were, your big heart, your love of Willie Nelson, our family road trips, the family gatherings and your cooking, which is often duplicated yet never replicated, the famous short bread and sugar cookies, candy yams, pork and beans, pumpkin tort, and sex in a pan. Last but not least Mom, you were an amazing person, you were the glue that kept our family strong and together, you spent your life working at the most important job of all - providing for us, your family. The last 45 years you were a dedicated homemaker and would do anything for us and your grandchildren. We appreciate everything you did for us and we will always hold you in our hearts and memories forever. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Sean, Mom's palliative home care nurse, for his kindness and dedication to her care, and the staff of the Palliative Care unit at the St. Boniface Hospital for the respect and care they gave to Mom in her final days. A special thank you to Jenny Salie and William Dolinsky of Chapel Lawn, Major Owen Budden from the Salvation Army Heritage Park Temple, for an excellent service and to our Piper George Morrison. As well to our neighbours and close family friends. Thank you for being our ROCK in a time of need. As per Mom's request, the celebration of life was held on July 4, 2016 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

My sincere condolences. I'm certain that Joy will be very missed by friends and family.! Joy was very helpful, assisting me to discover & understand my family roots. She was very knowledgeable about John Kapusta's ancestors and shared what she knew. A warm reception was held in her home, a wonderful dinner & evening was spent discussing family roots. Joy was a very knowledgeable teacher - helping me in my quest for information about "family". Although there is a possible distant connection, more research is required. I'm hopeful we can continue our friendship with husband John and children Kathy, Sean & Shauna. I'm planning a trip to Winnipeg in late September and would love to meet with John & family. Sincerely, Anthony J. Kapusta - Posted by: Anthony J Kapusta (a distant cousin from BC) on: Jul 13, 2016

Joy, you were an amazing Aunt to me, and you were there for me in my deepest time of need, one of very few who saw what was right, and stood beside me. We were ostracized for what we saw was the right thing to do and did not make a foolish decision to split up the boys in their final days so that they could be together. We got through it and our special bond became stronger because of it. I have shed many a tear over the last few months and I will never forget what you did for me. Toots still talks about that last special day you guys spent together at Oakview with Dad. That will never be forgotten. Audrey, Miranda, Toots, Lyle and myself will miss you a lot. p.s. there will always be a space for you at Grandmas old dining room table. I know you loved sitting there and chatting about family memories with us. - Posted by: Gary Fogg (Nephew) on: Jul 11, 2016
