Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN BERNICE NECZKAR (nee LAMBOURNE) Suddenly on July 9, 2016, after a difficult bout with congestive heart failure, Joan Bernice Neczkar passed away at Stonewall and District Health Centre. Joan is survived by daughters, Dr. Bonnie Lashewicz (Steven) and Capt. R.C.A.F. Jamie Neczkar; grandchildren Ashlyn and Dana Prior; sisters Dixie (Romeo, deceased), Peggy (Ernie) and Marie (Francis); brothers James (Tina), Ken (Lynn) and Jack; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Carl and Lavada Lambourne; husband Louis Neczkar; brother Silas, and sisters Jean, Sadie and Pearl. On November 26, 1939 Joan was born into what was to become a large homestead family in the Alonsa, Manitoba area. Like many of that era, Joan worked hard helping with farm chores and care of the younger children. While it was a tough start to life, the challenges nurtured relationships between siblings, and ultimately their spouses and children, that endured to the end and could be envied by most families. Joan graduated from the homestead to start a family on an Alonsa area farm of her own, eventually moving to Winnipeg with her daughter Bonnie. In 1984 Joan married Louis Neczkar, she and four-year old Jamie joined Louis farming in East Selkirk, Manitoba. After Louis' death, Joan moved to Calgary to work and be with both daughters. In her last years, Joan settled in Teulon, Manitoba where she participated in the genuine fabric of social and family life offered by a small community. She took pride in managing her large yard with abundant flower beds and big vegetable garden; Joan was often seen using her natural talents operating her riding mower, snipping flowers, digging potatoes or painting lawn ornaments hand-crafted by brother Ken. We are sure the corner of 3rd and 2nd in Teulon will be a less colourful and quieter place with Joan's passing. The family would like to thank the team at Teulon-Hunter Memorial Hospital, led by Dr. Michael Loudon, for their concern and care for Joan the past several years. A funeral service will be held for Joan on Thursday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel on Highway 7 in Teulon. The service will be followed with a light tea, and all are welcome. Your mom was always there for me when Aunt Dixie was away and always enjoyed my time with her. She was always so busy with her beautiful flowers, garden, and yard. Enjoyed her visits with us and mom. Will always go past her place now and say,"She is in God's hands now and pain free. I know God will have a special garden for her to take care of. Love you all and I am always here for guys my beautiful girls Bonnie and Jamie. I also loved watching her and mom play the machines as they were hilarious.
