SHILA SHARMA Shila Sharma, 70, beloved wife of Onkar Sharma, passed away the morning of Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 1:37 a.m., surrounded by her family. Mrs. Sharma is survived by her husband, son Sudhir Sharma, daughter Anu Sharma, son-in-law Vivek Sharma, granddaughter Maya Sharma, brothers and sisters from the Chhibba family and relatives from the Sharma family. A resident of Winnipeg for over 40 years, Mrs. Sharma was born in India to Madanlal and Suhagwatti Chhibba. She was married on August 26, 1972 to Onkar Sharma, son of Mulkraj and Dhandevi Sharma. She immigrated to England in 1972 and then to Winnipeg in 1975, where she lived out the rest of her life. Mrs. Sharma was a loving and devoted wife, mom and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors in her backyard. Mrs. Sharma retired seven years ago and became dedicated to an active lifestyle. She enjoyed working out and was keen on being at the gym everyday. Mrs. Sharma was spiritual and devout. She found peace in prayer and helping others. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A shanti (peace) prayer will follow at the Hindu Temple, 854 Ellice Ave. at 7:00 p.m. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
