ANNA LEPP (nee TOEWS) Peacefully, on Friday, July 15, 2016, Anna passed away at Pembina Personal Care Home in Winnipeg at the age of 97 years. Anna was born on May 19, 1919 to Willie D. and Sara (Bergen) Toews on a farm north of Herbert, Saskatchewan. Anna is predeceased by her husband Jacob Lepp, parents, Willie and Sara, sister Mary and husband Abe, brother John and wife Anna, nephew John (Butch). Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Esther and Ruthe, nephew Ed, niece Darlene (Don), and nephew Gerald (Robin) and their families. Anna is survived by her stepchildren, Mary, Jacob, Helen and their families. During the Depression years, she worked as a housekeeper and clerk in a general store, worked in a cannery in Ontario and then went to Winnipeg and found work at Eaton's mail order. She had the opportunity to take a LPN course, graduating in 1953. After several years she decided to complete her senior matriculation. She then took a two year medical laboratory technician course, graduating in 1959. Then she worked at the Swift Current Union Hospital. In 1970 she married widower Jacob Lepp. They lived in Calgary until 1978, when they moved to Kelowna. She was baptized in the Herbert Mennonite Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and over the years was active in the Women in Mission, volunteers in the MCC thrift stores. Her hobbies were sewing children's clothes, Cabbage Patch dolls clothes, school bags for MCC, knitting baby toques for Welcome Wagon and beanies for children of Inner City schools. In June, 2013, Anna moved to Pembina Place Personal Care Home as she was no longer able to take care of herself. We would like to thank all the staff at Pembina Place Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to Anna for the past three years. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Klassen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Kelowna, BC. Donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9 or a charity of your choice.   • Esther and Ruthe and family - I'm so sorry to hear about Anna's passing. I know that she was getting tired. Her earthly struggles are now over and she is at peace with our Lord in heaven.
