Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAULINE MARY SHUMYLA July 1, 1917 - July 16, 2016 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at her home, Auntie Pauline passed away with her family by her side. She was born in Pre Ste. Marie, Saskatchewan and moved to Fort Whyte, Manitoba as a young girl. Auntie Pauline was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Shumyla; brother Joe Shumyla; and sisters, Stella Squires and Ethel Shiells. Auntie Pauline is survived by and lovingly missed by her nephews and nieces, Murray Shiells, Robynne (Dennis Pischke), Cheryl (Joe Szurnicki), and Jonathon Shiells (Dali); her great-nieces and nephews, Deanna (Nolan), Dawn (Kai), Nicole (Kerry), Ryan (Suzie), Kim, Tyler (Amanda), Jennifer, Daniel, Kyle (Marcelle), Matthew, Crystal, and great great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Victoria, Chase, Aysia-Lynn, Taylor, Lucas, Liam, Noah, Ryden, Renea, and Kedric. Auntie Pauline was employed by the Provincial Dept. of Highways for most of her working life until her retirement in 1982. After retiring she enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world. Auntie Pauline enjoyed curling, golf, and mostly sewing and quilting which she shared generously with her family and different organizations. She wished to thank her nieces and nephews for all their help and care the last few years. She, as well as the family would like to express our gratitude to Home-care and Palliative Care out of Selkirk for your comfort and kindness during the past few months, as well as to Dr. Kornelson. She really appreciated your visits to her home. Cremation has taken place and private interment will take place at Chapel Lawn. A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
