HARRY PENNER Peacefully on July 20, 2016, Harry went to be with his Lord and Saviour, whom he loved and served. Remaining to forever love and cherish his memory are his children, Len (Carol) and Tom (Judy); grandchildren, Kevin (Val), Mark (Cynthia), Alicia, Kim (Kevin), Christine (John) and Michelle (Dylan); great-grandchildren, Avery and Hudson, Jacob and Ben. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Maria Penner, his wife Ruth, his daughter Marlene, and his son Kenneth. Harry was born in Winnipeg on January 5, 1930. He married the love of his life, Ruth Wiens on October 27, 1951. His career was in the Winnipeg garment industry where he dedicated over 40 years as a presser at Jacob Crowley Manufacturing. Harry was a quiet, gentle man that loved his family and had a passion for helping others. He was a dedicated follower of Jesus and was actively involved with the Portage Avenue Church since its inception. He enjoyed many things in life and topping that list would be playing games with family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Lions Manor for their support and the exceptional care they provided during Harry's time there. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., in Winnipeg, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private family interment after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
