Date of Passing: Jul 22, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROXIE VERNON (nee PINDAR) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Roxie Vernon on July 22, 2016, at Victoria Hospital, aged 87. Roxie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Jim. She is survived by her son Tom and grandsons Zach and Jay of Burlington, Ontario, and her daughter Suzy (Cooper) and grandsons Sam (Katie), Ben and Drew of Winnipeg. She is also survived by nieces Shelly (Fred) and Kaylee of Winnipeg, family across Canada and overseas, by her extended families, the Wards and the Mitchells, and, of course, her beloved cat Toby. Roxie grew up on Osborne Street and graduated from Kelvin High School. Roxie was a dedicated Royal Bank employee for many years. Roxie had a great passion for music that was only surpassed by her love for her family. She sang in church and secular choirs and performed with Musical Comedy Guild at Rainbow Stage and Hamilton Theatre Inc. We will celebrate Roxie's life at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 755 Elm St., at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations to National Service Dogs, a charity very dear to Mum's heart. See www.nsd.on.ca for information. The family would like to acknowledge the outstanding care from Emergency and ICU at the Victoria Hospital. Dear Mum, Oh how you will be missed. Our hearts ache, but we get great peace and comfort knowing you and Dad are together. When it's time, we will see you both again. Rest well. Our mum was the kindest, most caring, most loving person one would ever meet. Please do not be somber, but join us in celebrating the life of someone who made a difference.
