Ernie was a very warm and welcoming presence when I began my teaching career at John Henderson Jr. High. I appreciated his friendliness and the generosity with which he shared experiences and resources. John Potter, HR superintendent at the time, commented that the guy I’d be meeting at JH had the build of a boiler maker. That was Ernie, strong, bold and inviting. A good example and a good guy. Condolences to all. - Posted by: Barry Esselmont (Teaching colleague) on: May 31, 2022

Mr. Kuch was my favorite Grade 9 teacher at Robert Andrews. He united our class and was able to bring out the best from each student. I often think back at the great times my fellow classmates and I had in his class. He was an amazing teacher with lots of compassion and one who enjoyed teaching. He will be truly missed. - Posted by: Cheryl Hyduk (Former student of Robert Andrews) on: Aug 10, 2016

Mr Kuch was the absolute best teacher I ever had. He made me believe in myself and taught me that girls could be great at science too. He was funny and kind and warm. The world is better for him having walked on it... - Posted by: Ashley Ross (Student) on: Jul 31, 2016

Mr Kuch, was a great teacher and has always been one of mine along with many other's favourite. His smile and laughter was therapeutic, they sure don't make them like him any more. My condolences Tracy - Posted by: Tracy Doell (Student from Robert Andrews Jr. High, East ST. Paul) on: Jul 31, 2016

I was very sad to hear of Mr. Kuch's passing. He was one of my all-time favourite teachers, and I had the pleasure of being his student in both junior high at Robert Andrews as well as in high school at Miles Mac. I will always remember him fondly for his kindness, patience, and of course the laughter and humour he infused in all his classes. My heartfelt sympathies to his family during this difficult time. - Posted by: Susan Riddell-Harrison (Former Student) on: Jul 31, 2016

Mr. Kuch was the best teacher and best coach in any sport I ever had. He was my track coach from 1990-1992. He had a passion for everything he did, and that was contagious. My favorite memory of him was a group of us athletes sitting around after practice listening to Coach Kuch talk about science. We were all enthralled. That summed up the greatest lesson he ever taught me. Every moment is an opportunity to teach. I try not to waste those opportunities with my kids or the kids I coach. Thank you for touching my life Mr. Kuch! - Posted by: Craig Palz (Former Student) on: Jul 30, 2016

My thoughts are with you Helen, and your family. I was a close friend of Ernie's during University days, and considered Ernie as one of the more sensible Aggies. - Posted by: Wayne Motheral (friend) on: Jul 30, 2016
