Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JAMES BLANCO January 30, 1947 - July 26, 2016 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and great uncle Robert James Blanco (Bob) on July 26, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sister Margaret E. (Betty) Jones; bother-in-law Allan; niece Alanna (Chris); nephew Brad (Kris) and seven great nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his father Jim Blanco and mother Peggy Blanco. Bob enjoyed life immensely. He loved to bowl and was on a mixed league with our father and mother for many years. He was a lifelong member of the Fort Garry Legion. He loved music and danced every chance he got. He was the last one on the dance floor at many functions. In his teens he did a lot of travelling around the USA and saw much of the country. He started work at a young age and was employed by Versatile for many years, before he went to work for the Fort Garry School Division. He worked for the School Division for 30 years, up to retirement at the age of 59. He was a very kind and gentle person and would do anything for anybody. He always had a smile for everyone and enjoyed making them laugh. When Bob first started to work he bought a lot at Boulder Bay, near Beaconia on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, near Grand Beach. He and our father built a cabin, where we enjoyed many very happy years with family and friends. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. We would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at St. Boniface Cancer Care for their loving care for the past couple of years and also the staff at St. Boniface 5E who gave us love and support during Bob's last hours. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Bob (Uncle), we love you and will always miss you. Dance and be Happy! Dance and be Happy Bob - Posted by: Brad Laewetz () on: Aug 02, 2016

Bobbie taught us to love life, to laugh with joy, and to dance with wings on feet! He was the life of any gathering and the spark that began the party. I know he flew me around the dance floor like I could fly but always caught me gracefully as if I were a butterfly. He was truly a hero to many and will be sadly missed by all. - Posted by: Toni (Tonette) Hays (Cousin) on: Aug 02, 2016

Knew Bob slightly in school and around Fort Garry. A very nice person that had a love of life. Found out later that his sister was married to a workmate of mine. Rest In Peace Bob. - Posted by: Court Brooker (Acquaintance) on: Jul 30, 2016
