AMALIE (MOLLY) RIVARD Molly passed away peacefully, on Sunday morning, July 31, 2016, at Bethania Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, at the age of 102 years. She was predeceased by her parents Gottlieb and Eva Borkowsky, husband Emil James Rivard, brothers and sister-in-laws Gottleib and Christine, John and Lydia, Henry and Louella, sisters and brother-in-laws Lydia and Emil Mantie, Minnie and Bert Carriere, Christine and Bill Fiebelkorn, Brother in Laws Jack Schinkel, Ed Wonnek, and Andy Nehaj. Molly is survived by her son Dennis (Margaret), and grandson Craig Jones (Kristen), granddaughters Chantel Jones, Nicole Jones, great-grandchildren Ethan Jones, Noah Jones, and Olivia Jones, brothers Emanuel (Ethel), Alfred (Christine), Herb (Doreen), sisters Irene Schinkel, Esther Wonnik, Joyce Nehaj as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Molly was born on November 9, 1913 in Bristol, MB, the fourth child of Gottlieb and Eva Borkowshy. She attended school in Bristol. Molly and Jim were married in Winnipeg in 1941. The following year after Dennis was born and Jim was overseas, Molly moved in with her Uncle Emanuel Betker and his family. She and Dennis lived there until the war ended and Jim returned. Molly continued living in Winnipeg at various locations until Jim passed away in 1998, at which time she moved into an assisted living facility where she lived until moving into Bethania PCH. Over the years Molly enjoyed playing Bingo and the trips to Vegas. Molly’s final years were spent at Bethania Personal Care Home and I would like to thank the entire staff at Bethania for the loving care they gave to my mother for that entire time. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2 PM at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, with Pastor Don Engel officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg. Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
