HARVEY BROWN It is with great sadness that the family of Harvey announces his passing on Sunday, August 7, 2016 with his family at his side at the Ste. Anne Hospital at the age of 66 years. Harvey will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Gloria, daughter Laurie and her husband Dan, son John and his wife Carley, and his precious grandchildren, Hunter, Kylie, Carter, Owen and Ethan. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynda (Bob), Garry (Doreen), Marvin (Mildred), Frances (Ed), Jack (Cherryl), Darlene (Dwight), Brenda (Leonard), Louise (Ken), Debbie (Jim), and Cindy (Joe) and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Rose and brother Jim. Harvey was born October 21, 1949 and grew up on the family farm in the Dugald, MB area. He married the love of his life Gloria in February, 1973 and together they raised their two children Laurie and John at their family home in Anola. Dad was simply the BEST and loved us "right up to the sky". He was a very hard worker and did a variety of jobs throughout his life and always took great pride in a job well done. He was thrilled to retire after 25 years with the School Division at the age of 55. After retirement he kept himself busy and was able to do some of the things that were very close to his heart, continue helping on the farm, driving truck for Dorris Yakubicka and working with his great friend Billy Charles. When he was not working he had many past times that he loved: hunting, fishing, golfing, curling and playing crib (over the last years he had some very special crib partners). All of these things were special to him because he did them with people he loved. He was always one to share his skills with someone just learning to hunt, golf, curl play crib. He never judged, always encouraged and was the perfect example of true sportsmanship. Family and friends (including the four legged furry ones) were very important to him. He was a wonderful friend and would stop everything to lend a hand, often putting himself second to someone in need. He mastered the art of teasing while still making you feel loved. He was so proud to be the FIRST one to call you and wish you a very happy birthday. No need to worry about setting your alarm that morning because he was sure to call WAY before. His greatest pride and love in his life were his precious grandchildren, Hunter, Kylie, Carter, Owen and Ethan. They were his greatest gifts and he felt so blessed to have them all so close to him. While looking through pictures you can see the love and happiness he had when they were near, sitting with him on his chair, cuddling them up or heading out into the bush with them cutting wood having a fire or just exploring the pasture. They brought him so much joy and even more during his last years. We would like to extend many heartfelt thanks to everyone that helped him through his courageous battle. There was never a shortage of people willing to help with appointments, stopping by for visits, bringing his favourite goodies and treats, offering words of encouragement or playing a friendly game of crib. We would also like to thanks everyone at Ste. Anne Hospital for taking such good care of Dad. His family physician Dr. Kevin Grace, everyone at CancerCare and his homecare worker Kim. A celebration of Harvey's life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dugald Community Club, 544 Holland Street in Dugald. In lieu of flowers donations to CancerCare can be made if you so wish. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

My brother from another mother, so many, many happy memories. You taught me how to play crib while you were a patient in hospital so many years ago.
