DOREEN TIMLICK May 3, 1922 - August 9, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our deeply loved wife, mother and grandmother, Ruby Doreen Timlick (nee Hull) on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Doreen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Warren; sons, Rodger (Debbie) and Blaine (Marlaine) and grandchildren Lauren, Cale and Chantal. She was predeceased by her parents John and Annie, brothers Herb, Percy and Lawrence and sisters Sybil and Laura. Doreen was a proud life-long Winnipeger. She attended General Wolfe and Gordon Bell schools after which she became a seamstress and worked at a number of commercial establishments prior to getting married and settling into homemaking and raising a family in Fort Garry. She continued her seamstress work from home creating many wedding, bridesmaid and graduation gowns and from this work and made countless lifelong clients and friends from this work. Doreen was an avid bowler playing in numerous leagues well into her 80's and often told stories about her and her bowling teammates innumerable exciting games. Upon retirement, Doreen and Warren travelled extensively and often to Europe, and many locations in the U.S.A. by themselves and with other family members where they enjoyed seeing and learning about the local history and culture. Doreen loved her family life and especially came into her niche when she became a grandmother where she reveled in the opportunities to interact with them. In the latter part of her life she loved visitation and was always ready to engage anyone in debate and story telling. A memorial service will be held for Doreen on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, with reception to follow. The family extends prolific thanks to staff at the Misericordia residence and to Meadowood Manor for their patience and quality care that was provided to Doreen. The family would also thank the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service as well as the staff of the St. Boniface Emergency Department who cared for Doreen in her final hours.
