Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE ETHEL WATSON (née JONES) It is with deep sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of their mother, grandmother (granny) and great-grandmother, Alice Watson on August 12, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Alice was born in Winnipeg on April 10, 1926. She is survived by her children Carol (Ken) McCreedy of Winnipeg and Ross (Violet) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Denise, Jamie, Cory and Kendra, and six great-grandchildren. Alice grew up in St. James where she met the love of her life, Denny Watson. Their marriage in 1947 was cut short when Denny lost his life in a tragic accident in Kenora in 1950. Alice was preceded in death by an infant daughter Denise; mother Helen Jones; sister Edna, and brothers Len and Casey. Alice married Walter Trochluk in 1961 who passed away in 1984. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for an informal celebration of Alice's life held between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 7 Zacharias Place. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their kindness and dedication to Alice during her time there. Our family is so sad to hear of Aunt Alice's passing. When I read her passage and realized that she was 90 it made me so happy to know that she had so many "living" years with her family! Happy belated 90th Aunt Alice!.....you are inspiring and have the family record! We love you! May you dance in heaven with Dad (Len), Edna and Casey! You were such a caring and loving aunt that always made me feel loved and important when I saw and talked to you. Sincerest heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Carol and family in the loss of your precious mom as well as to Jamie and family in the loss of your grandmother. We were fortunate to meet Alice at family functions and in Florida. We will always remember her beautiful warm smile. We know our grandson Matthew remembers her fondly and will miss her lots.
